The Shell Technical Department forms part of our value added service which gives us access to detailed technical information on lubricants and OEM recommendations.

Metalworking Fluid Condition Monitoring

The fact that metalworking fluids need constant condition monitoring and maintenance is too often over looked, resulting in the product being blamed for poor performance. When all that is required is the inmplementation of a fluid management program.

We recommend following a condition monitoring program at all metalworking customers in order to prevent disappointment and frustration in the form of poor coolant performance. Our staff are trained and very competent to assist and educate customers in this area.

Reporting on coolant condition requires readings in the following analysis categories:

• Concentration Value - Refractive Index
• pH Value
• Corrosion Test - IP 287 test
• Tramp Oil content
• Bacteria Count

From these readings educated and experienced recommendations can be made to extend the life of your metalworking coolant. All tests are carried out in a controlled environment by an ISO 9002 accredited company.
